Security Operations Engineer

📍 London Fenchurch Street (Hybrid)

💰 Salary: £70,000 – £100,000 depending on experience

We are looking for an experienced Security Operations Engineer to join our SecOps team and help strengthen how we operate key security controls across the public cloud. Working in a hybrid role based in London Fenchurch Street, you’ll play a central part in securing and improving our AWS and Azure environments while helping shape the future of cloud security engineering.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to a major transformation programme, influencing how cloud security changes are delivered for critical underwriting systems. You’ll work across Architecture, Engineering, and business teams to improve resilience, enhance tooling, and mature our security operations capability.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Operating and improving security controls across AWS and Azure environments
• Building secure, scalable workflows using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and modern CI/CD pipelines
• Defining and managing IAM, network security controls, and cloud security configurations
• Supporting the detection, investigation, and response to cyber threats and security incidents
• Collaborating with Architecture and Engineering teams to embed security into new and existing services
• Improving operational tooling and helping drive automation across security operations
• Contributing to the ongoing evolution of cloud security strategy and operational maturity

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in Security Operations, Cloud Security, or Security Engineering roles
• Hands-on expertise with AWS and/or Azure security controls and services
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Understanding of IAM, network security, threat detection, and incident response
• Knowledge of modern DevOps or CI/CD practices and security automation
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams
• Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for improving security operations
