Lead Business Analyst

London (Hybrid)

Department of Technology

Reporting to Head of Product

circa. £80,000 - £90,000 + bonus and benefits

Build more than solutions. Build the Business Analysis function.

This is not a traditional Business Analyst role.

This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up.

You'll have genuine ownership of the Business Analysis capability while working on meaningful digital transformation initiatives that are reshaping how my client delivers products and services.

You'll play a pivotal role in defining how Business Analysis is delivered across the organisation. You'll create the standards, tools and ways of working that underpin delivery, while remaining hands-on across the most strategically important initiatives.

We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable facilitating discovery workshops, mapping user journeys and writing high-quality user stories as they are coaching others, improving BA practices and working alongside Engineering and Architecture teams to turn ideas into scalable digital solutions.

This role will appeal to someone who enjoys building capability as much as delivering change.

You'll split your time between leading the BA practice and delivering complex digital initiatives.

Build the BA capability

  • Define and own Business Analysis standards, templates and best practices.
  • Establish scalable ways of working for requirements gathering, user story creation, backlog management and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Coach and support internal teams, partners and contract Business Analysts to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery.
  • Create reusable playbooks, templates and frameworks that enable the BA function to grow.
  • Shape how Business Analysis integrates into agile, product-led delivery model.

Lead digital delivery

  • Work closely with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data and business stakeholders to translate ideas into well-defined digital solutions.
  • Lead discovery activities to understand user needs and business outcomes before defining requirements.
  • Facilitate workshops, process mapping sessions and collaborative design activities across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Produce clear user stories, acceptance criteria, process documentation and functional specifications.
  • Partner with technical teams to understand integrations, APIs, data flows and system architecture.
  • Support UX activities including user journey mapping, wireframing and digital experience design.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify processes, improve customer experiences and increase operational efficiency through technology and data.
  • Support testing, business readiness and successful adoption of new solutions.

We're looking for someone who has helped shape how Business Analysis is delivered and can confidently bridge the gap between users, product teams and technology.

You'll have:

  • Significant Business Analysis experience within digital product, software or technology-led environments.
  • Experience establishing or improving Business Analysis standards, frameworks or operating models.
  • Strong user-centred design experience, including discovery, user research, journey mapping or service design.
  • The confidence to challenge assumptions, ask "why" and help teams solve the right problems.
  • Strong technical credibility with Engineering, Architecture and Data teams, with an understanding of integrations, APIs, data models and modern digital platforms.
  • Experience working in agile, product-led delivery environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills.
  • The ability to influence, coach and raise the quality of Business Analysis across multiple teams.
